In 1961 France, 11 rue Jean-Goujon becomes the first home of Yves Saint Laurent’s designs, and on December 4th of the same year, the haute couture house opened its doors to the world. With a recognisable monogram of three simple intertwined initials, the Cassandre, the maison rose to fame in the 1960s for blending art and rock ‘n’ roll tendencies with fashion and pioneering ready-to-wear with the launch of the Rive Gauche boutique. Nowadays, Saint Laurent has grown to offer a wide range of bags, accessories, and à la mode garments that are true to the brand’s luxurious Parisian heritage, re-imagined with a contemporary edge.
